Compass Collective: a secondhand find on Kumeu's Main Road

Kumeu sits on Auckland's north-western fringe, better known for vineyards and the Kumeu Showgrounds than for op shopping, but Main Road has picked up a handful of independent retailers in recent years — Compass Collective among them.

Local reporting around its launch described it as a second-hand shop started by a Kumeu local named Anna, aimed at giving the growing Kumeu-Huapai community a place to buy and sell preloved clothing and accessories close to home, rather than making the drive into town.

Being a small independent shop rather than a national charity brand, it doesn't have much of an online review footprint — Op Shop Directory NZ shows an average rating of around 3 out of 5 from only a handful of votes, and there isn't enough detailed feedback out there to draw firm conclusions either way.
