Stanmore Bay is one of the residential pockets that make up the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, a stretch of the Hibiscus Coast well north of central Auckland. On Whangaparaoa Road, the Gutter Kitties Op Shop shares its site with Pandora's Closet Crystals & Giftware, a small but distinctive combination for anyone browsing the strip.
The shop exists purely to fund Gutter Kitties' work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming stray and street cats in the local community — donated clothing, books, bric-a-brac and household goods are sold on, with the proceeds going straight into that cause.
It's a newer, lower-profile operation online: there's no meaningful review history yet on either Facebook or the wider op shop directories, so it's hard to speak to the in-store experience specifically. That's common for smaller, cause-specific charity shops that rely more on local word of mouth than online visibility.
It's open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 3:45pm on weekdays and a shorter 9am to 2pm on Saturday, closed Sundays.
