Henderson is West Auckland's commercial hub, home to the Westgate and Henderson town centres, light industry and a steady residential base. Tucked among it on Dora Street, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells donated furniture, homewares, books, records, DIY materials and clothing — with women's clothing often going for around $4 an item.

Sales here fund Habitat for Humanity Auckland's core mission: building and repairing homes for local whānau who need them. Every purchase, from a $2 paperback to a full lounge suite, feeds back into that programme.

It holds a solid 3.9-star reputation, with reviewers describing it as a quite good little op shop with reasonable prices and a well-organised layout. Several shoppers say they always come away with a treasure, and there's a recurring theme of the store being packed with more than you'd expect from the outside.

It's open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturday, closed Sundays — good for a considered look rather than a quick dash, given how much stock moves through.
