On Manukau Road in Royal Oak, this Mercy Hospice shop is smaller than some of its sister stores but has built a devoted following. It's part of the wider Mercy Hospice retail network that funds free specialist palliative care across Auckland, and it's open all seven days, 10am to 4pm.
One reviewer named it their "absolutely favourite Mercy Hospice shop, mainly because the ladies who work here are just so lovely," and others describe it as a fairly small op shop with good quality stock and friendly, helpful staff. It's also been called "one of the more upmarket hospice shops" and "well worth a browse," though a few shoppers note some items can be a bit pricey.
A nice touch mentioned repeatedly online: $1 bins of children's clothing and items sitting just outside the shop, good for a quick bargain even if you don't have time to browse inside.
As with all Mercy Hospice shops, proceeds go directly toward free care for Aucklanders with life-limiting illnesses and support for their families — worth keeping in mind while you browse the racks.
