Re:Circle runs on a different model to most op shops on this site. Rather than stock coming from donations sorted by staff, individual sellers rent a stall or rack, then curate, describe and price their own pre-loved clothing and household items themselves — closer to a flea market or consignment mall than a traditional charity shop.

The concept is based on Scandinavian-style re-use markets and has had a bumpy run in Auckland: the original K Road store reportedly closed after around seven months in business, but the model has persisted and expanded, with locations including Onehunga alongside other cities like Hamilton and Tauranga.

We should be upfront that we don't have a verified address, phone number or opening hours on file for the Onehunga branch, and it doesn't yet have much of an online review footprint — so treat this as a heads-up that it exists rather than a full guide. Checking Re:Circle's Facebook or Instagram before visiting is a sensible move.

For shoppers, the appeal is the sheer variety that comes from many individual sellers curating their own space, each priced and described by the person who owned it — a different kind of treasure hunt to a standard op shop.
