Devonport, with its ferry terminal, naval history and boutique-lined streets, is one of Auckland's most-visited seaside villages — and it has an unusually high concentration of op shops for its size. The SPCA branch is one of several within easy walking distance of each other.
As with all SPCA shops, stock is entirely donated by the local community — clothing, homeware, books and bric-a-brac — with sales funding the SPCA's animal welfare and rehoming work nationally.
This is one of the few shops in this batch with a real, if mixed, review trail — and it's not all positive. Some reviewers have flagged prices as high for an op shop, with a few items said to be priced close to retail, and have pointed to complaints about staff responsiveness. Others have suggested Devonport's other op shops offer better value. Worth going in with reasonable expectations rather than assuming charity-shop bargain prices across the board.
No address or hours are listed for this location in our data, so it's best to check the SPCA's website or call ahead before making a special trip — particularly since Devonport draws a lot of foot traffic and stock can move quickly.
