SPCA Op Shop Mt Eden: a new stop on Dominion Road's op-shop strip

Dominion Road has a reputation among Auckland op-shoppers as one of the city's better strips for secondhand browsing, with several charity shops within a short walk of each other through Mt Eden and Balmoral. The SPCA's shop at 666 Dominion Road is one of the newer additions to that lineup.

Like every SPCA op shop, proceeds go toward the SPCA's animal welfare work rather than a specific building or campaign — donations of clothing, homeware and bric-a-brac get turned into funding for rescue, rehoming and veterinary care.

Being a comparatively new store, it hasn't built up a large public review base yet, and posts on local community pages have called for volunteers to help staff it. What feedback exists puts it in reasonable standing, though there isn't enough of it to draw firm conclusions either way — worth judging for yourself on a visit.

The one confirmed opening time we have is Wednesday, 9am to 5pm. Call ahead on 09 869 2538 to check other days before making a special trip, since hours at newer shops can still be settling in.
