Salvation Army Family Store Massey: op-shopping in Westgate's new town centre

Massey and Westgate make up one of West Auckland's newest major town centres, having grown rapidly over the past decade with big-box retail, a new library and civic hub, and expanding housing around it. This Family Store on Don Buck Road is part of that growth, giving the area a proper op-shop option alongside the newer chain retail.

The Salvation Army's own listing describes it simply as offering quality used clothing and household goods at good prices — in keeping with the rest of the Family Store network, which funds the organisation's broader community and welfare work.

That's a thin sample to draw conclusions from, and likely reflects how new the surrounding centre still is rather than anything about the store itself.

It's open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm, making it easy to fit into a Westgate shopping trip alongside the mall's other retailers.
