Tipping Point operates out of Gate 5 of the Waitākere Resource Recovery Park on The Concourse in Henderson, run by MPHS Community Trust. Rather than a typical charity-shop donation model, much of its stock is intercepted on its way to landfill by the transfer station next door, then cleaned up and put back on sale.

The site is more than just the reuse shop: alongside it sits a construction and demolition reuse shop for building materials, and a "Nothing Wasted" repair shed. Together they're framed as a community resource-sharing project, aiming to give people a different sense of what's still valuable and reusable rather than rubbish.

Online feedback is solid without being outstanding: roughly a 4 out of 5 rating from around 70 reviews on one platform, and an 80% recommendation rate from a smaller batch of Facebook reviewers. That points to a shop that generally delivers on its promise, even if it hasn't drawn the volume of glowing reviews some suburban charity shops get.

It's open Monday to Friday until 4:30pm and Saturday until 4pm — a natural stop if you're already heading to the transfer station to drop something off, since you might find someone else's cast-off worth taking home instead.
